Qatar Airways has consistently been celebrated for its luxurious amenities and top-notch the during flight experience. The Journey Begins
Before traveling we had a lot of expectations with Qatar Airways and our journey also started with a lot of expectations. Qatar Airways is an airline that is famous in faraway countries. It is known for its services and hospitality so we were very eager to experience their hospitality. Our flight from New York to Doha was quite long. It is about 13 hours long. As the time in the flight was getting shorter, our anxiety was increasing.
Check-in and boarding
It wasn’t until we arrived at the airport that the first sign of trouble hit us at check-in. At the time of check-in, the Qatar Airways queue was quite long, stretching around the terminal. Although delays are not uncommon, communication with staff was causing problems. The rest of the passengers, including me, had stopped guessing at that time. And when I laid eyes on the ship, my hopes got a little higher as soon as I saw it. The aircraft looked clean and modern attractive from afar. I boarded the plane and sat in my seat. I booked an economy class ticket from the travel class of Qatar Airways. However, after sitting down, my initial positive impression faded.
Seating and comfort
As Qatar Airways offers its passengers seats with ample legroom, I found the seat quite cramped on this flight. The seat felt uncomfortable with insufficient padding. A neighbor friend of mine was also traveling with me. My neighbor was a very polite and tall man. He was struggling to find a comfortable and open seat. Due to the narrowness of the seat, his knees were crushed. In addition, he was facing a pain that was unbearable. There was only a selection of movies and TV shows. There were no new reels available, only movies offered by the airline itself. And many passengers requested the staff to fix these screens but the staff could not find any solution to the problem.
Meals and service
Qatar Airways offers passengers an in-flight menu that is a sight to behold. It features high-quality menu options prepared by top-quality chefs. But unfortunately, the catering of this flight also fell short here and the food service started after about 2 hours. And the wait was also a delay for long-haul passengers. Finally after so much waiting the food arrived but the food was very tasteless.
I chose the chicken and vegetable dish from the menu, the chicken was very dry and the vegetable was soggy. And one thing that was very strange that the vegetarian passengers were left without anything to eat as the vegetarian option was gone in no time. Tried to resolve the situation but faced ignorance from the staff. After that, when it was time to eat for the second time, he was very disappointed. Breakfast options were disappointing with cold parathas and ruby omelets with stale croissants. Again slow service and staff trying to accommodate passengers.
Crew attitude and service
Cabin crew service, which is a strong point for Qatar Airways, seemed unusually disjointed. Because any extra service meaning requests for water or extra blankets could only be seen with the eyes. Sitting here, it was felt that the staff is either not trained or the staff is less. There were several incidents where the staff got a disappointing response. There was a passenger who was suffering from air sickness and he pleaded for help many times but no one even listened to him.
Arrival and disembarkation
As soon as we reached our destination, passengers expressed relief and satisfaction, but the nightmare was not over. After landing we were kept inside the plane for an hour as passengers were not allowed to disembark. Nor was there any clear reason to stop, which soon led to the cabin filling up with passengers. When permission was finally given to disembark, chaos ensued as passengers sought their own way out.
Customer service and follow-up
As soon as I reached the terminal, I expressed my complaint about the Qatar Airways staff but could not get any positive response from the Qatar Airways customer service team. While I was in a state of despair and thought of going out after controlling my anger.

Whether traveling by air or any other experience is definitely gained, but this experience of Qatar Airways proved to be a surprise for me. It certainly taught me that even the best of airlines can fail at times. It is no doubt that Qatar Airways can overcome all these problems and provide quality services to the passengers.
